You’ve probably heard by now that successful businesses are built on strong marketing strategy, and in my opinion, without one you will seriously struggle to grow.
Knowing your goals, planning your steps and taking intentional action can be the difference between a 6 figure business and a 6 month hobby.
And if you’re on this page, you’ve already begun to take those necessary steps to start up-levelling your business, so cheers to that!
For anyone who hears the word “strategy” and experiences nothing but anxiety or eye rolling, here’s 5 reasons why having a strategy will literally transform your business.
1. Save time
Ever feel like you are grinding away at your business but not really seeing results? That’s because you are doing too many things that are nice to have but aren’t really focusing on the things that you need to have.
Having a strategy will help you to cut out anything that isn’t serving you and your business and focus on the things that will drive sales and help you build relationships. You’ll be amazed how much more efficient you can be with your time when you have a plan in place that you can glance at every week and know exactly what comes next.
2. Consistently improve
Being able to see where things went well and where things could be better is a key reason why you should think strategically. If you’re consistently taking action but are not really sure whether it is successful, you need to be looking at your data and making decisions based on what is working and what is not. Once you start doing this you will recognise trends which you can replicate in future campaigns or launches because you will have already seen first-hand success.
Remember, every business, niche and audience is different, so you have to test out lots of different ideas and options to see what works best for you. With a strategy you can suss out what works best and quickly.
3 Make planning an easy task
If you follow me on Instagram (if you don’t lets connect!!) you will have heard me talking about planning over and over because in my opinion it is sooo important as a business.
Getting ahead on your planning is the first step to success because it will help you think intentionally about everything you do which means less time wasted on things that don’t make a difference.
I talk all about how to Plan Like A CEO here.

4 Know your next few moves in advance
Once you’ve got steps 3 and 4 in place, you will start to be able to map out your next moves in advance.
You will be seamlessly shifting from launch to launch, building hype around new products in advance rather than rushing last minute, and you will wake up feeling like you know exactly what you’re doing every day.
You can begin working out your next quarter or year in advance and see your goals more clearly, knowing exactly how to achieve them. As we talk about in step 5, you will be able to assign budgets effectively which of course leads to greater profit margins.
Now you are really starting to think like a CEO.
5. Budgeting is much easier
Lets face it, no-one wants to be spending money where it isn’t effective. Without a strategy or plan, it can be really difficult to effectively assign budget to any project and you can end up spending money where it isn’t getting a good return or not investing enough and missing out on results.
Something I hear all the time from my clients, particularly when it comes moving into things like paid advertising, is that they have no idea how much budget to assign to these tasks. £1 per day or £1000 per day? What is most effective? Does more money mean more sales? Well with a strategy, this will become much easier to decide.
Strategy helps you to get crystal clear on what steps needs to be put in place to achieve your financial goals so that you know exactly how much to assign to each activity in your business. So no more shooting in the dark and hoping you’re not wasting precious money, you can get back to investing it where it counts.
